Wes has been a fairly active musician since he was about 5, learning classical piano and guitar first, then playing piano and percussion in a school orchestra, singing in several choirs, (including much fun as part of a touring barber-shop group)... all good fun. Things shifted up a bit when Wes became a Christian at around 16, and music took on a new sort of purpose there.
After moving to London for study, Wes joined Every Nation Church, where he's been one of the worship leaders since 1998. At about that time, he began writing songs that mostly started with the word 'You', as a sort of reaction to the overload of subjective experiential songs that seemed to be around at that time, along with other songs that seemed to be comfortable with talking about God, but rather shy of singing to Him. The songs he writes are meant to be catchy, easy for pretty much everyone to sing, easy to remember, and lyrically focussed on God, and relating to Him.
Wes, along with close friends Rich and James, forms the core of Teapot Records, doing much of the arrangement and playing for our group albums, while also prodding everyone to keep writing and recording. After being prodded repeatedly over the last few weeks, "Smile", his first full album was released in October 2006. He and Faye married each other in May 2005, and live in Bedfordshire with their cats and piano.
